Process of LCD Manufacturing
September 29, 2021
In the Front End of Line (FEOL) stage, production begins with the grading of ITO glass substrates, followed by a sequence of processes including cleaning and drying, photoresist coating, prebake, exposure, development, etching, stripping, and inspection. Through repeated steps of cleaning, coating, curing, and verification, the substrates undergo further treatment such as alignment layer coating, seal printing, spacer spraying, and precise alignment lamination. The process is finalized with seal curing, ensuring the proper alignment of liquid crystal molecules and the structural stability of the panel.
Moving into the Back End of Line (BEOL) stage, the focus shifts toward structural finishing and performance testing. This includes cutting, breaking, liquid crystal filling, end sealing, curing, and cleaning, followed by electrical testing, ink printing and curing, polarizer lamination, defoaming, and visual inspection. The final steps involve marking, pin/heat seal attachment, quality assurance checks, packaging, and warehousing, completing the transformation from raw substrates into high-performance LCD modules ready for the global market.
